Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Work crews have successfully halted water leakage from a pipeline in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent, announced Ravshan Yokubjonov, spokesperson for "Toshkent shahar suv ta’minoti".

According to him, the pipe burst occurred around 4 a.m. The primary cause was a temporary power outage at a nearby boiler house, leading to increased pressure in the pipes.

The burst occurred at a pipe junction, he added.

Work crews mobilized from various parts of the city have stopped the water leakage and are currently conducting repair works.

Partial restoration of traffic flow has been achieved, and water supply to consumers has also been largely restored.

The aftermath of the incident is expected to be fully resolved by the end of the day.
