The parties exchanged views on international and regional issues, the Uzbek ministry said in a statement.

In discussions related to Afghanistan, it was noted that Uzbekistan provides considerable assistance to the neighboring country in its social-economic reconstruction efforts.

During the conversation the parties highlighted their interest in cooperating on the issues of peaceful resolution of the protracted conflict in Afghanistan.
