Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 June 2023, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkiye to Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar.

They exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan and the efforts of the international community. Parties also discussed about the expansion of cooperation in the area. In particular, the sides agreed on the need to continue humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people and coordinate efforts to combat terrorism.

The Turkish Ambassador emphasized the significant role of Uzbekistan in establishing a long-term and sustainable peace in Afghanistan, as well as involving the country in regional integration processes.
