Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 April 2024, Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuriddin Ismoilov met with members of the delegation led by Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili.

During the conversation, members of the delegation were provided with detailed information about the most important tasks identified within the framework of the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy, which are currently being implemented in the country as part of extensive reforms, as well as the promotion of legislative changes, new articles of the Constitution, and the structure of the Legislative Chamber , its legislative activities, the main functions of committees, commissions and deputies.

The meeting was held in a constructive atmosphere, and issues of further strengthening parliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia and its further development, as well as the exchange of experience in the field of legislation were discussed.

Shalva Papuashvili also expressed recognition for the consistent, open and constructive foreign policy pursued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in recent years, and for the large-scale reforms that have resulted from them. It was noted that the continuation of meetings in the spirit of practical cooperation, as well as the expansion and strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation, are the mutual interests of both sides.

Issues of further expansion of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, as well as cooperation in the field of transport and communication infrastructure, textile, electrical engineering, tourism, cultural and humanitarian spheres and other areas were also discussed at the meeting.

During the meeting, which took place in a sincere and friendly atmosphere, the parties agreed to take cooperation to a new level.
