Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Spain secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Georgia and advanced to the quarterfinals of Euro 2024.
Georgia took the lead in the 18th minute due to an own goal by Spanish defender Robin Le Normand, who inadvertently deflected a shot by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia into his own net.
However, Spanish midfielder Rodri equalized in the 39th minute.
In the 51st minute, Fabian Ruiz scored Spain’s second goal with a header following a cross from Lamin Yaml.
Spain increased their lead in the 75th minute when Nico Williams scored after a solo run. It’s worth noting that a minute earlier, the referee had disallowed an own goal in favor of the Spanish team.
In the 83rd minute, Dani Olmo sealed the final score of the match, making it 4-1 in favor of Spain.
In the quarterfinals, Spain will face Germany, who earlier defeated Denmark 2-0.
