Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan with the speaker on food issues of the Spanish Senate Commission on Agriculture, Livestock and Food, Antonio Luengo, as well as with representatives of the BioGreen Road, Dunyo news agency reported.

At the negotiations, issues of developing cooperation between the two countries in the field of water resource management in agriculture were discussed.

During the conversation, Senator Antonio Luengo noted that the province of Murcia, being one of the arid regions of the country with insufficient rainfall and rocky soil, similar to the conditions in Uzbekistan, faces the problem of limited water resources for irrigating fields.

As part of the presentation, the technology of the Spanish company BioGreen Road for the macromolecular transformation of water into gel was presented. This technology helps push salt deposits away from plant roots, creating moisture bubbles around them, which reduces water consumption by more than 50%, keeping it on the surface of the root layer.

The use of this technology in the province of Murcia when growing greens and fruits in field conditions similar to Uzbekistan led to an increase in yield by 10% or more.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to organize a visit of representatives of the BioGreen Road company to Uzbekistan in the near future.
