Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 June, the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk-yeol with his spouse Kim Gun-hee arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit at the invitation of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Prime Minister of Uzbekistan and other officials met the distinguished guest at the Tashkent International Airport.

After a brief conversation, Yoon Suk-yeol and his spouse went to the residence prepared for them.

During the visit, the main focus will be on deepening practical cooperation in areas such as trade, innovation and technology exchange, energy, electronics and electrical engineering, chemical industry, agriculture, infrastructure development and other priority areas. Joint programs in the fields of education, healthcare, culture, sports and tourism will also be discussed.

In addition, it is planned to exchange ideas on issues of regional cooperation, including in the “Central Asia – Republic of Korea” format.

Following the summit, a number of intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents are expected to be signed.

President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk-yeol will also visit Samarkand.
