South Korean companies to develop tungsten fields in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- South Korean companies KU Energy Holdings and Shindong Resources are planning to start development of tungsten fields in Uzbekistan in 2013, director of the state enterprise “State geology information center” Bobur Islamov said.

Islamov underlined that now the feasibility study of the project is underway in cooperation with Korean companies. Afterwards, the financing of the project will be launched.

In September 2012, KU Energy Holdings signed an agreement on development of feasibility study on rehabilitation tungsten production at Ingichka field in Samarkand region with the State Committee on Geology and Mineral Resources of Uzbekistan.

Within the agreement, Korean company received geological materials. The feasibility study will be developed by May 2013 and afterwards, the sides can sign documents to set up joint venture.
