The visit has been organized for further developing trade-economic and investment cooperation among businesses of two states.
The delegation included heads of Korean companies, operating in such areas as production of ecologic technologies, energy saving lamps, plastics, spare parts and equipment for production of furniture.
Within the visit, negotiations among the South Korean and Uzbek businesses were held at Dedeman Hotel in Tashkent on 1 May 2012.
The visit is aimed at developing trade-economic cooperation among business circles of two states, establishing direct mutual beneficial contacts with the Uzbek businesses, discussing opportunities of bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, the sides considered issues of mutual cooperation to strengthen mutual beneficial cooperation among businesses of two states.
In the second half of day, the sides participated at the cooperation exchange to discuss concrete cooperation projects.
It is worth to mention that the trade turnover between two states made up US$1.628 billion, of which US$124.4 million fell to share of Uzbekistan’s exports and US$1.486 billion – to imports.
Currently, there are 359 enterprises with the Korean investments, of which 62 are with 100% Korean capital. They work in such areas as light industry, mining, chemistry, food, machinery, etc. Some 84 Korean companies accredited their offices in Uzbekistan.
