Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Presidential Resolution “On measures to improve the system of providing social services and assistance to the elderly and persons with disabilities who need outside care” was adopted.

According to the Resolution, the Inson Social Services Center maintains a Register of lonely and lonely elderly people and persons with disabilities who need outside care.

From 1 April 2024, single elderly people and persons with disabilities included in the register, and the person directly accompanying them, are provided with free train or intercity bus tickets (round trip) once a year.

From 1 May 2024, instead of monthly compensation for payments for housing and communal services and monthly additional payments for food and personal hygiene products for single elderly people and persons with disabilities included in the register, monthly financial assistance is introduced in the amount of minimum consumer expenses for single elderly people and persons with disabilities.

Lost biometric passports (identification ID cards) of single elderly people and persons with disabilities will be replaced before they are included in the register at the request of the Inson Social Services Center without charging a state fee.

From 1 March 2024, a flexible work schedule will be introduced to allow social worker assistants to provide services to single elderly people and persons with disabilities who have limited opportunities for self-care, independent mobility and orientation, on all days of the week on an hourly basis.

From 1 April 2024, in social support centers located in Samarkand and Ferghana regions, the city of Tashkent, on an experimental basis:

persons placed in them are given the opportunity for short-term and long-term stay and complete departure from the boarding house according to their needs and desires;

Short-term and long-term social and rehabilitation services are provided in mobile form and in the form of day visits.
