Some goods not produced in Uzbekistan are exempt from customs duties

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to the Presidential Decree “On measures to significantly increase the flow of foreign tourists to the republic and further enhance domestic tourism”, from 1 March 2024 to 1 March 2026:

the following goods, analogues of which are not produced in the republic, imported by business entities into the territory of Uzbekistan are exempt from paying customs duties:

- equipment, machinery, raw materials, components and spare parts, furniture and inventory, construction and other materials necessary for the construction, reconstruction and equipment of hotels and other accommodation facilities, shopping and entertainment complexes;

- equipment, inventory, turnstiles, payment and information terminals, video surveillance systems, new modern energy-saving systems and special water purification filters designed for swimming pools and water parks;

- materials for construction (reconstruction and modernization), equipment and technologies necessary for organizing the activities of retail stores selling jewelry and gold products located in tourist centers;

- when flying to Muynak and Zaamin airports, the sale of air passenger tickets for young people under the age of 23, age pensioners and persons with disabilities is carried out at 50 percent preferential rates, and the costs of passenger transportation companies associated with the provision of this benefits are covered from the budget.

When putting up for auction state assets for the provision of hotel and tourism services, it will be provided the ability to pay redemption payments in installments for up to 5 years, regardless of their value, and measures have been taken to reduce up to 30 percent the starting price of assets that remained unsold for more than three months, and, if necessary, to sell them at book (residual) value.
