Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Decree "On measures to further improve the criteria for dividing business entities into categories, as well as tax policy and tax administration was adopted.

According to the Decree, entrepreneurs were divided into categories based on the following criteria:

- small businesses:

- individual entrepreneurs;

- micro-firms - business entities, the founders of which are individuals, with a total income of up to 1 billion soums during the calendar year;

- small enterprises - business entities with a total income of 1 billion soums to 10 billion soums during the year;

- medium-sized businesses - business entities with a total income of 10 billion soums to 100 billion soums during the year;

- large business entities - business entities with a total income of 100 billion soums or more during the year.

From 1 April 2023:

- medium-sized businesses once a year are covered up to 50 percent of the cost of property insurance, but not exceeding 20 times the amount of the basic estimated value (up to 6 million soums);

- for business entities with a total income of at least 10 billion soums, a 20 percent quota in public procurement is introduced;

- when selecting the best proposals and evaluating the proposals of bidders for public procurement, the amount of VAT is not taken into account;

- the procedure for covering the expenses of enterprises - exporters of high value-added copper products related to the production of products and their sale in foreign markets, in the amount of up to 6 percent of the export value, is cancelled.

From 1 May 2023, the following are mandatory:

- installation of electronic measuring instruments and online video cameras at autogas filling stations and gas filling stations and integration with information systems of tax authorities;

- integration by operators of their information systems for receiving and keeping records of raw cotton, grain or rice with the information system of tax authorities.

Also, organizations providing payment services, when making money transfers between individuals, draw up and provide electronic invoices for the services rendered to them (also in the case of charging a fee, a commission in the amount of "0" soums).
