The State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan, the greatest number of enterprises and institutions (excluding private farms) was registered in trade and catering (25.6% of total registered enterprises), agriculture (21%), industry (13.3%), and construction (7.4%).
In the total number of registered enterprises the share of enterprises with non-state form of ownership was 92.6%, of which 50.8% - private and dekhkan farms, 20.4% - private enterprises, 0.9% - enterprises with participation of foreign capital, 20.5% – other enterprises.
The number of newly registered enterprises and institutions was 9,400 in January-March 2012. Their significant number was marked in the city of Tashkent (17.6% of total registered enterprises in Uzbekistan), Kashkadarya region (9%), Tashkent region (8.6%), and Syrdarya region (8.2%).
In the sectoral structure of newly registered enterprises 40.2% - the share of agriculture, 20.1% - trade and catering, and 15.7% - industry.
In the reporting period, 5,100 enterprises and institutions were liquidated. Out of them 1,522 were liquidated voluntarily.
In the sectoral structure of liquidated enterprises, 30.8% fell to share of trade and catering, 26.9% - agriculture, and 14.6% – industry.
