State Committee on Communication, Information and Telecommunication Technologies said about 100 companies in software market of Uzbekistan worked in 2005 and their number reached 210 in the end of 2009. Their number exceeded 225 in the end of 2011 and as of 1 September 2012 some 238 companies work in industry.

The committee said that number of registered software made up 208 as of 20 September 2012, while number of registered computer software hit 194, as well as databases – 14.

About 600 people studied in various directions at the Center of training and supporting young programmers in nine months of 2012 and about 60 people studied at the Uzbek-Indian IT Center.
