The committee said that 18,395 new small businesses were created in Uzbekistan in January-September 2012, of which 11,911 were (4,350 in industry) in production sectors, 64,84 (35.2%) in non-production (service) sectors of the economy.

In the result of the measures on supporting small businesses, adopted by the Government of Uzbekistan, share of small businesses in economy is growing.

The committee said that share of small businesses in the gross domestic product made up 51% in January-September 2012 (50.5% in Jan-Sep 2011), in industry – 21.4% (20.7%), in investments – 35.2% (30.2%), in construction – 71.8% (70.4%).

Share of small businesses in retail trade turnover reached 45.2% (46.6%), in paid services – 43.5% (45.3%), in employment – 75.5% (74.9%) and in exports – 15.5% (15.3%).
