Some 1,400 EV charging stations operate in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 1 May 2025, Uzbekistan had nearly 1,400 electric vehicle charging stations, according to the Ministry of Economy and Finance. Over the past year, the number of stations has increased 2.5 times.
Currently, approximately 92,000 electric vehicle owners use these charging services. The capital city and Tashkent region remain the leaders in terms of infrastructure, hosting 820 and 154 stations respectively. Together, these two regions account for 70% of the country’s total EV charging network.
Namangan, Samarkand, and Jizzakh regions also rank among the top five in terms of charging infrastructure. In contrast, Syrdarya region and the Republic of Karakalpakstan lag behind, with only 13 and 14 stations, respectively.
Notably, Syrdarya was the only region that saw no increase in the number of charging stations over the past year. The highest growth was recorded in Tashkent and Tashkent region.
