In the 66 weight category, two-time Olympic Games bronze medal winner and two-time World Champion Rishod Sobirov won the bronze medal of the World Judo Championship.

Rishod Sobirov said that he faced difficulties after moving to new weight category. He said that now he feels that his form is improving.

Rishod Sobirov received 360 qualification points to the 2016 Olympic Games.
