At the third plenary session, Senators will discuss a draft law, envisaging introduction of Tax Code and Administrative Liability Code, Law “On protection of consumers’ rights” and Law “On advertisement” in connection with reorganization of the state antimonopoly body.

Alisher Burkhanov, member of the Committee on budget and economic reforms of the Senate, said: “As everyone knows the President of Uzbekistan signed a decree on further improvement of antimonopoly regulation and development of competition in February 2010. In line with this document, the State Committee of Uzbekistan on demonopolization, support of competition and entrepreneurship was reorganized into the State Committee of Uzbekistan on demonopolization and development of competition. There will be also other structural reforms, connected with implementation of the concept on transfer from strong state to strong civil society, increasing role of the civil institutes in the processes of modernization of the country and updating the society.”

In particular, the Senator drew attention to that the decree envisages proposal for business entities on formation of the Association of Enterprises of Small Businesses and Private Entrepreneurship and transfer issues on support of entrepreneurship from the committee, state body, to Association, NGO.

He said this will allow create new guarantees and conditions for free participation and interest of population to entrepreneurship, increasing their business activity, as well as ensuring protection of rights and interests of business entities and boosting entrepreneurship.
