Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to purchase 30 modern electric trains from the Czech Republic.

This is envisaged by the resolution of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures for radical reform of the railway transport sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”

According to the document, the Government of Uzbekistan will purchase 30 modern electric trains from the Czech company Škoda Transportation. The parties will sign a direct contract for the supply of trains.

The project for the purchase of electric trains will be financed through loans from Czech commercial banks. The loan amount will be 350 million euros. The interest rate on the loan will be 5.5%.
