Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 May 2019, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov met with Minister of Human Resources, Second Minister of Trade and Industry of the Republic of Singapore Tan Si Leng. The sides discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation.

In particular, they discussed the expansion of trade and economic cooperation. The Singapore side stressed its readiness to take comprehensive measures to expand the range and increase the volume of mutual trade.

The issue of holding the Made in Uzbekistan exhibition in Singapore in September of this year was agreed upon, which will unlock the potential of industrial cooperation between the two countries and expand the portfolio of joint investment projects.

Along with this, other issues on the current agenda of cooperation were considered, including the development of partnerships in the field of education, the possibility of resuming direct flights between the two countries and the prospects for implementing joint Smart City projects in Uzbekistan based on the Singaporean experience.

As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop a step-by-step joint action plan to accelerate the implementation of all the announced agreements into reality.
