Siemens may open an education and training center in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Siemens may open an educational and training center at the New Uzbekistan University. Students of this university will have the opportunity to do internships in such well-known companies as Audi and BMW.

A delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Minister of Preschool and School Education Hilola Umarova is visiting Germany to establish partnerships in education with German universities.

The delegation of Uzbekistan took part in an international symposium at the Technical University of Munich.

At the symposium, Minister of Preschool and School Education Hilola Umarova discussed the work completed within the framework of cooperation between the two countries. Particular attention was paid to the presentation on the three-year activities of the New Uzbekistan University and the Technical University of Munich.

As part of the event, heads of German companies Siemens, Knorr-bremse, Airbus, Deloitte, IT4IPM and Linde were invited to participate in the International Industrial Advisory Council, which will be organized at the New Uzbekistan University.

This Council is designed to contribute to the implementation of practical processes of students and the solution of production issues through science and research. Local business leaders will also be involved.

During the meetings, preliminary agreements were reached with Siemens on the possible opening of special training centers in the new campus of the New Uzbekistan University. The expansion of the teacher exchange program with professors from the Technical University of Munich was also discussed.

A memorandum of understanding was signed on the creation of a double master’s degree program between the New Uzbekistan University and the Mitwaida University of Applied Sciences, which will allow students of the Industrial Management - Innovation and Business Development program to continue their second semester of study in Germany.

Partnership issues were also discussed and cooperation plans with the Technical University of Dresden, the University of Applied Sciences Dresden, the Technical University of Freiberg, and the University of Nuremberg were discussed.

Hilola Umarova met with the Chairman of the Committee for Science and Culture of the Bavarian Parliament Robert Brannekemper. The parties considered the issues of introducing educational programs based on the Bavarian model in several schools in Uzbekistan.
