Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Uzbek-German International Medical Forum, held in Samarkand in May 2023, opened up new prospects for the further development of bilateral cooperation in the field of healthcare. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health.

At the forum, along with many German enterprises, clinics and higher medical educational institutions, a preliminary agreement was reached with the world famous company Siemens Healthineers on the supply of necessary medical equipment for clinics in our country.

After a short time, a dialogue began on the implementation of this agreement. Thus, Minister of Health Amrillo Inoyatov held a meeting with representatives of the delegation headed by the vice-president of this company Bernt Bieber.

It should be noted that Siemens Healthineers, with more than 125 years of experience, is one of the world’s leaders in the supply of medical equipment and the introduction of digital technologies.

As the minister noted, today the healthcare system of Uzbekistan is being completely transformed. At the same time, one of the key areas in this process is to improve the quality of medical care for the population by equipping not only state medical institutions, but also over 8,000 private clinics operating in our country, with modern medical equipment, and training qualified specialists in the field.

It was also emphasized at the meeting that Uzbekistan has sufficient potential and opportunities to become a major medical hub in Central Asia.

In turn, the German guests noted the accelerated development of Uzbek medicine and expressed their readiness for long-term cooperation with the Ministry of Health.

During the dialogue, an agreement was reached on the supply of the necessary medical equipment to public and private medical institutions in our country, the creation of service centers for its maintenance, joint training of specialists, and the introduction of innovative technologies in the field of medicine.

Following the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Health and Siemens Healthineers.
