Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Shukhrat Kholdarovich Otaboev was appointed Chairman of the Board of the Joint-Stock Commercial Khalk Bank (People’s Bank). Prior to his appointment from the beginning of February, he worked as Deputy Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan on the development of economic sectors, implementation of investment and foreign trade policies. 

Shukhrat Otaboev was born in 1978. He graduated from the Tashkent Financial Institute, then the National Institute of Political Science of Japan and the Academy of State and Social Construction under the President.

He began his career in 1995 as an English teacher at secondary school No. 14 in Navoi region. Since 1998 he has been working as a chief accountant at the Kamolot Public Center of the Tashkent State Technical University.

From 2001 to 2012, he held various positions at the Central Bank of Uzbekistan. In 2015-2017, he held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Board of the People’s Bank, in 2017-2018 - Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, in 2018-2021 - Chairman of the Board of JSCB Ipoteka Bank ”. Since February of this year, he worked as Deputy Adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Today the new head was introduced to the staff of the People’s Bank. The event was attended by Chairman of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan B. Nurmuratov and Minister of Finance T. Ishmetov.
