Short-term power outages observed in regions of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Short-term power outages are observed in some regions of Uzbekistan. This was stated in the statement of the Ministry of Energy.

Once the days start to get colder, the demand for electricity and gas increases. Also on cold days, there is a sharp drop in natural gas pressure in main gas pipelines and networks, the agency notes.

“As a result, some thermal power plants that produce electricity receive less natural gas. This, in turn, leads to a decrease in electricity production,” the Ministry of Energy emphasizes.

The agency notes that in such cases, it is necessary to introduce short-term restrictions on the supply of electricity in certain regions of our republic in order to prevent major accidents that can occur as a result of increased loads at power generation facilities, high and low voltage electrical networks, transformer points and substations.

In addition, in some regions, there is a decrease in the pressure of natural gas. Currently, special duty headquarters have been set up at all fuel and energy facilities, and specialists are taking appropriate measures to eliminate these problems.

“Taking this opportunity, we would like to ask consumers to correctly understand this situation in order to avoid major accidents that can occur in networks and ensure the stability of energy resources, use these resources as economically as possible,” the Ministry says.
