Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekkino shoots a feature film about the great historical figure, the founder of the Uzbek dramaturgy, Mahmudhodja Behbudiy.

The film is based on real events of that time and reflects the period from the end of the 19th century to the 20s of the 20th century. The artistic principle of the film is large episodes-memories through which the whole life path of Mahmudhodja Behbudiy can be traced. The film is full of events that have a real historical foundation - this is the defeat of the Kokand autonomy, and refugee flight, and military clashes.

In Bukhara, scenes of the last days of Behbudiy’s imprisonment before his execution are filmed, episodes in Zindan. Also, the film was shot in Tashkent, Samarkand and other cities of Uzbekistan.

The authors and directors of the film are Bako Sadykov and Ulugbek Sadykov.

Behbudiy was a prominent representative of Jadidism, an enlightener, and one of the founders of national theatrical art. His activities laid the foundation for the development of culture, science and education in our region.
