Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Roma’s head coach Claudio Ranieri has expressed his support for forward Eldor Shomurodov.

The Uzbek striker has been linked with a departure from the Italian club for several weeks now.

Despite recent rumors about a possible move to Venezia, Shomurodov appeared as a substitute in the second half of Roma’s 2-1 victory over Udinese.

The forward played a crucial role in Roma’s comeback in the second half.

At the post-match press conference, Ranieri said, "I know Shomurodov, he was with me at Cagliari, and today he did well and played behind the opponent’s line."

"Will he stay? If an opportunity arises to strengthen the squad, I will support the club’s decision, but Eldor is a serious professional, and I am satisfied with him."

"He is a player with whom I have a good relationship," he added.
