According to the presidential decree, Sherzod Shermatov was appointed to the post of the First Deputy Minister of Development of Information Technologies and Communications of Uzbekistan.

Prior to appointment, Sherzod Shermatov worked as the rector of Inha University in Tashkent. He replaced Alisher Fayzullaev at this post.

Sarvar Babakhodjaev, who worked as the manager on administrative affairs of Inha University in Tashkent, assumed the post of the rector of the university.
