Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the construction site of the Ugam River tourist complex, located along the Ugam River in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region.
Previously, this area was rocky and underutilized. Now, work is underway as part of a project worth over 1 trillion soums, covering an area of about 14 hectares.
The complex will feature 17 apartment buildings, 16 cottages, restaurants, retail outlets, sports and children's playgrounds, an amphitheater, and modern infrastructure such as an indoor pool and parking. The project also includes the creation of an eco-friendly zone with additional tree plantings and river water recycling.
Upon completion, the complex will be able to accommodate up to 200,000 visitors annually. The first phase, which includes the completion of the apartment buildings, is scheduled to be completed early next year.
The President provided instructions on promoting the complex and attracting tourists, while also emphasizing the importance of preserving local traditional crafts such as beekeeping and lemon farming to support the region's ecosystem.
