Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent condolences to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in connection with the loss of life and those injured as a result of the explosion at the Kostenko mine in Karaganda region.

The head of our state expressed hope for the speedy rescue of the miners remaining in the mine.

An accident occurred in the Kostenko mine in Karaganda region of Kazakhstan. The number of dead miners has increased to 32 people, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan reports. The search for 14 miners continues.

Presumably, the cause of the accident was a methane explosion, the ArcelorMittal Temirtau company clarified.
