Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the state visit to Dushanbe, on 19 April, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda.

Issues of further expansion of Uzbek-Tajik relations of strategic partnership and alliance were discussed.

The head of our state noted that the historic Treaty on Allied Relations was signed yesterday. In this regard, the importance of the unconditional implementation by the governments of the two countries of all agreements reached at the highest level was emphasized.

It was noted that for these purposes it is necessary to develop a joint “road map” and organize meetings of prime ministers on a systematic basis.

The priority tasks identified are increasing trade turnover, developing cross-border trade and trade infrastructure, deepening industrial cooperation in such areas as automotive, energy, electrical engineering, mining, textile, pharmaceutical, agricultural and other industries.

The importance of making full use of the potential of the regions of the two countries, as well as expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges, was especially noted.
