Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the ninth meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with a delegation from the Republic of India headed by Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

At the beginning of the meeting, Nirmala Sitharaman conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the President of Uzbekistan from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed strengthening the strategic partnership and multilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and India, including the agreements reached at the highest level.

Particular attention was given to preparing for and holding the next meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in November of this year, where an Industrial Cooperation Program will be adopted.

The sides also discussed the implementation of joint projects in areas such as energy, petrochemicals, digitalization, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and the development of transport corridors.
