Shavkat Mirziyoyev briefed on the automotive industry and plans for 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has been informed about the current achievements in Uzbekistan’s automotive industry and the plans for the coming years.

Automobile manufacturing accounts for 10% of the country’s industrial output. In the first ten months of this year, 338,000 passenger cars were produced, and 1,400 types of components were localized. Thanks to the economic measures taken, the cost of production has decreased by 4%, and export volumes have reached US$455 million.

The Chairman of Uzavtosanoat, the state-owned automotive company, outlined the goals for 2025. Next year, it is planned to produce 450,000 vehicles and increase exports to US$700 million. Special attention will be given to cooperation with regional enterprises and enhancing localization. As part of this program, 63 projects worth US$325 million are planned, aimed at mastering the production of 700 new components.

A key achievement is the launch of an electric vehicle factory in Jizzakh in partnership with Chinese company BYD. The plant is already producing models such as Chazor and Song Plus Champion. The expansion of the model range is planned for the future. In the second phase of the project, worth US$300 million, the annual output of electric vehicles will increase to 200,000 units, and in the third phase, it will rise to 500,000 units.

The President instructed to work with Chinese partners on building additional capacities and gradually mastering the production of components and spare parts for electric vehicles. He also emphasized the importance of creating orders for domestic enterprises as part of the cooperation.
