Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has arrived in Kazakhstan on an official state visit.

At Astana’s international airport, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev personally welcomed him.

Tomorrow, under the leadership of the two countries’ leaders, the first session of the Higher Interstate Council will take place.

During the discussions, the leaders will thoroughly explore ways to deepen Uzbek-Kazakh strategic partnership and alliance relations, as well as to expand cooperation in political, trade-economic, investment, transport-communication, energy, agricultural, and cultural-humanitarian areas.

The program also includes participation in the Consultative Meeting of Central Asian Heads of State and the "Central Asia + Japan" Dialogue.
