Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Asian and world youth champion in athletics in the triple jump, winner of the Konya Islamic Solidarity Games 2021 Sharifa Davronova was named "The Best Young Athlete of the Year" by the Asian Athletics Association. 

Today, Vice-President of the Asian Athletics Association, Deputy Chairman of the Uzbekistan Athletics Federation Andrey Abduvaliev presented this prize to the athlete.

Andrey Abduvaliev wished Davronova good luck in the upcoming competitions. In particular, it is worthy to defend the honor of our country at the Asian Games, which will be held this year in the Chinese city of Hangzhou. In turn, Sh. Davronova noted that in the future she would work hard to become the athlete of the year among adults as well.

The competitions of the Asian continent among the youth in this discipline, which were planned for this year, have come to an end. Davronova showed a result of 13.99 meters at the 2023 Asian Championships, held in our capital. This is the best indicator in the youth category, not only on the continent, but throughout the world throughout the year.
