Shahdag Tourist Center became a member of the Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The mountain resort Shakhdag Tourist Center CJSC (Azerbaijan) entered the Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts.

The largest mountain resort in Azerbaijan, Shahdag, has become the fourth member of the Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts.

As part of the exhibition “Tourism on the Silk Road” TITF2023, the corresponding memorandum was signed by representatives of all resorts of the Alliance and the Chairman of the Board of the mountain resort CJSC Shahdag Tourist Center Rustam Najafov.

In June 2023, the mountain resorts Shymbulak (Republic of Kazakhstan), Amirsoy (Republic of Uzbekistan) and Rosa Khutor (Russian Federation) created the Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts (EAMR).

The parties agreed to create a common platform for promoting domestic tourism in the Eurasian space, joint development of mountain resorts in Eurasia, professional communication, exchange of best practices and strengthening the brands of mountain resorts - industry leaders, preservation and mutual popularization of the natural and cultural heritage of the participating countries and promotion of ideas healthy lifestyle.

Saidvali Saidkhodjaev, General Director of the Amirsoy mountain resort, noted that the entry of the Shahdag mountain resort into the union will be a striking addition to the Interstate tourist route being developed by the Alliance.

“The active participation of all Alliance resorts, the achievement of practical results and their successful presentation at such a global tourism forum shows its vital relevance and importance. I am confident that the Alliance will become an important and useful platform for creating new ideas and projects related to the development of international tourism, as well as promoting safe, green and affordable tourism,” he noted.

Members of the Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts also spoke about the goals and objectives of the new union and presented specific joint activities that are already scheduled for implementation this winter season.

For the first time, the Alliance presented a common Calendar of sports, cultural and entertainment events at three resorts for the coming year.

According to the Alliance, tourists can participate in interesting events and activities, and also receive bonuses for participation. Bonuses, as planned, can be used to pay for services at any of the Alliance resorts.

The Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts will hold a large-scale Festival of Mountain Resorts for the first time in March 2024. The first festival will take place at the Rosa Khutor resort in Sochi.

Its program includes free master classes on alpine skiing and snowboarding from the best instructors of the Alliance, a gastro-festival and folklore program, an educational module for employees of mountain resorts, professional discussions on current aspects of resort activities, in particular, a round table on the development of tourism in special protected natural areas.

It was noted that this festival will be held annually at the site of one of the Alliance members.

Representatives of the Alliance noted that work is underway to develop an Interstate tourist route and introduce a single ski pass at the Alliance’s resorts. Alliance members also intend to jointly train personnel for mountain resorts at the EAGC Corporate University.

General Director of the Amirsoy Mountain Resort, Saidvali Saidkhodjaev, noted that the common goal is to reveal new directions in the tourism and hospitality industry, improve quality and competitiveness, and bring the culture of tourism to a new level.

“The steady growth of tourist flows between our countries in 2023 once again confirms that international cooperation is the key to success. The Eurasian Alliance, which is now being developed by four resorts, creates strategic opportunities for the sustainable development of mountain tourism on the Eurasian continent for the next decade and the long term,” said Sergei Khvorostyany, Deputy General Director for International Relations and Tourism of the Rosa Khutor resort, at the presentation.

Secretary of the Alliance Andrey Kukushkin said that preparations are currently underway for the process of registering the EAGC as a legal entity; it will be a voluntary public association. The secretariat of the organization will be located in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.
