Seven tour operators fined for advertising Umrah without licenses

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Protection in Uzbekistan has imposed fines on several companies that violated legislation when placing advertisements related to the organization and conduct of the "Umrah" event.

The Committee is conducting a review and analysis of materials published in the media and on online platforms to ensure compliance with the Advertising Law. Specifically, the review focused on compliance with the law by tour operators when placing advertisements related to the "Umrah" event.

During the checks, it was found that several regional offices in Namangan, Navoi, Fergana, Khorezm regions, and Tashkent city had placed advertising materials without the necessary licenses. Seven tour operators, including companies such as EMIR VOYAGE, MAKAN UNITED TRAVEL GROUP, EZOFAYZ, MURABBIY TRAVEL, ZAYTUN TOURISM, SMART SYSTEMS COMPANY, and NAZIR TRAVEL N1, violated the requirements of the Advertising Law. As a result, administrative cases were initiated, and financial penalties were imposed.

Additionally, administrative liability was applied to officials of the tour operators and administrators of Telegram channels from Namangan and Fergana regions. Among them, five cases were linked to channels such as "Bog'dodliklar telegram kanali adminlari N.Shukurullayev va R.Usmonov," "Zaytun_Travel_official," "Musaffo turizm," and "Dastorqozi_202 MILLIY TAOMLARI."

To clarify the situation, the Committee has sent inquiries to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Cybersecurity Center regarding individuals who distributed advertising materials without a license on more than 12 informational resources. In response to these inquiries, appropriate measures will be taken in accordance with current legislation.
