Seven People Killed in Accident on A-373 “Tashkent–Osh” Highway

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A government commission has been formed following a major road traffic accident on the A-373 “Tashkent–Osh” highway, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

The incident occurred on 7 September at around 12:20 in the Angren area of Tashkent region. A Shacman truck lost control while crossing a railway intersection and collided with two trucks and five passenger vehicles that were waiting at a stop. The collision caused a fire, which was quickly extinguished by emergency services.

Seven people were killed in the accident, five others were hospitalized, and four received medical assistance at the scene.

Investigative authorities have opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code. Operational teams continue to work at the site.

A government commission has been established under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Achilbay Ramatov to investigate the circumstances of the tragedy and coordinate all necessary measures. The situation remains under close government supervision.
