Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Seven more branches of Russian universities will be opened in Uzbekistan. This issue was discussed in Makhachkala at the eighth meeting of the commission on cooperation between the Federation Council of Russia and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, Sputnik Uzbekistan reports.

“The number of Uzbek students studying in Russian universities is 46,000 people, 14 branches of Russian universities have been opened in Uzbekistan, it is planned to open seven more,” the message says after the meeting.

The participants also discussed the possibility of increasing quotas for the education of Uzbek students in Russian universities.

This year Russian universities plan to allocate 30 thousand state-funded places for applicants from foreign countries.
