Seven freight cars derailed in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18 May, 7 freight cars derailed. This was reported by the press service of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari JSC.

The incident occurred on 18 May 2024, on an access road that does not belong to Uzbekistan Temir Yollari JSC, but to Chirchik Savdo Baraka LLC.

Employees of BN Grain and Oil Group LLC, when accepting cargo on these cars, did not follow the technology for working with a railway device - a winch.

As a result, when unloading these freight cars, employees of the specified organization, using a winch and not observing the necessary safety precautions, tried to pull the cars. The cable from the device broke, and the cars began to move uncontrollably.

During the situation, employees of BN Grain and Oil Group LLC unsuccessfully tried to stop the movement of cars. Two cars (No. 95547865 and 95045464) completely came off their wheels, and five more (No. 95407581, 95715165, 95404547, 95046207 and 95077327) overturned on their sides.

The cause of the incident was determined to be a violation of operating technology using an additional device - a winch.
