Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 8 June, at the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Sergey Denisenko was presented with a gift from the president - the Trailblazer SUV. By the decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the athlete was awarded the honorary title “O‘zbekiston iftixori” (Pride of Uzbekistan).

On 1 June, an Uzbek citizen Sergey Denisenko planted the flag of Uzbekistan at the highest point of the planet - Mount Everest. It should be noted that this is the first ascent of the mountain by the Uzbeks from the side of Nepal.

“If a person sincerely intends to do something, he will certainly achieve his goal, which he strives for. From a young age I dreamed of Everest, making it my goal to conquer this peak. Today this dream has come true, this goal has borne fruit. Movement and aspiration are the key to all my achievements. This summit was conquered not by me, but by my parents, relatives, my people, my Motherland-Uzbekistan,” said Sergey Denisenko.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Sports Aziz Abdukhakimov, State Adviser to the President for Science, Education, Healthcare and Sports Abdujabar Abduvakhitov, Deputy Head of Administration, Press Secretary of the President of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov, relatives and media representatives.
