Sensations of the VI Congress of the World Society: a robe from Sogd, which is 1311 years old, has survived to this day

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A robe from Sogd, which is 1311 years old, has survived to this day. This is the only Sogdian robe in the world, no others have been preserved. Winged horses with the tree of life under their hooves are depicted on the sleeves of the robe. The colors of the fabric (green, red, blue and cream) and patterns in the form of medallions are still distinguishable.

Heba Nayel Barakat, Chief Curator of the Museum of Islamic Art in Malaysia, where the unique robe is kept, told about this amazing artifact.

Incredibly, a fresco was found on the walls of our Samarkand Afrosiab depicting a group of people in exactly the same robes.

The sensational robe can be seen at the Kuala Lumpur Museum of Islamic Art, Malaysia.

The VI International Congress of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan is being held in Samarkand these days.
