Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The senior investigator of the Yunusabad District Prosecutor’s Office in Tashkent has been declared wanted, according to a report by the General Prosecutor’s Office.

Based on the information, officers from the General Prosecutor’s Office and law enforcement conducted an operation following a citizen’s complaint. The citizen alleged that senior investigator Sh.Sh. had demanded $40,000 to settle a criminal case against employees of a company.

On 7 October, during the operation, Sh.Sh. received the requested amount from the complainant and fled the scene to avoid prosecution.

The General Prosecutor’s Office has initiated a criminal case against Sh.Sh. under Article 210, part 3, section "a" of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (Bribery). An arrest warrant was issued in absentia, and he has been declared wanted.
