The law was considered at the Eighth session of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, which kicked off in Tashkent on 23 March 2012.

The Senate’s press service said that Senators decided to decline and direct to re-development the law “On introduction of changes and amendments the law of Uzbekistan “On foreign investments”.

They noted that the law required additional and more detailed development, taking into account priority tasks on improvement of investment activities, proposed by the Uzbek President Islam Karimov at the session of the government dedicated to the 2011 results.
