Senators approved the law on ratification of the international labour organization convention on paid leave

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  At the fifty-ninth plenary session of the Senate, the Law "On Ratification of the International Labour Organization Convention No. 132 on Paid Leave (revised in 1970) (Geneva, on 24 June 1970)" was reviewed.

In recent years, Uzbekistan's cooperation with the International Labour Organization has expanded and reached a new qualitative level.

The Convention aims to further strengthen measures to ensure the rights of workers in labor relations, including the right to rest and the use of paid leave.

It establishes a foundation for guaranteeing workers in all sectors their right to rest and the restoration of work capacity through paid leave for each working year while maintaining their job position and average salary.

It was noted that to date, this Convention has been ratified by 38 countries.

The adoption of the Convention will improve Uzbekistan's positive image in relations with international and regional organizations and elevate its standing in international rankings and indices to a higher level.

It also serves as an effective means for implementing international standards for ensuring the rights of workers in all sectors to rest and use paid leave.

The law has been approved by the senators.
