According to the Kengash (Council) of the Senate, the members of the upper chamber are expected to consider more than 20 issues, including the state budget for 2010, the employment program for 2010, as well as a number of laws, UzA reported.

Among them are laws on amending the Tax Code, the Administrative Responsibility Code, the Criminal Procedure Code, the law on securities market and legal acts related to agriculture and water management.

The Senate will also consider the law on ratification of the Agreement between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan on transfer of persons sentenced for imprisonment for further service of their sentence, signed in Tashkent on 25 February 2009.

The senators are expected to discuss the implementation of the Senate’s resolution on the responsibility of the local authorities for the realization of the Anti-crisis program for 2009-2012.
