The law was developed in order to improve norms of Criminal and Procedural Criminal Codes related with institute of releasing from responsibility or punishments due to active repentance.

The law creates legal base for ensuring correct and single use of institute on release from criminal responsibility or punishment due to active repentance. It is directed at stimulating cooperation of people with law enforcement bodies to reveal crimes and preventing its consequences.

Senators of Uzbekistan approved the law.
