Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the forty-third plenary session of the Senate, the Law "On Amendments and Additions to Article 43 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Protection and Use of Wildlife" was considered.

It was noted that the measures implemented in the country to protect the environment and improve the ecological situation serve as the basis for ensuring stable living conditions and preserving natural populations of wild animals, especially their rare and endangered species.

At the same time, the cases of keeping predatory and poisonous wild animals in semi-free conditions or in captivity, using them for commercial purposes, walking in public places, leading to various accidents, require the improvement of legislative acts in order to protect the life and health of the population.

In this regard, in order to streamline the keeping of wild animals, the Law entrusts the Cabinet of Ministers with determining the list of wild animals prohibited for keeping by individuals, as well as the procedure for keeping wild animals included in this list by legal entities.

According to the senators, this Law serves to protect the life and health of the population in cases related to the keeping of wild animals and their use for various purposes, as well as to increase the responsibility of the authorized state body in this direction.

The law was approved by the senators.
