Representatives of German state bodies, companies and firms and others participated in the seminar, the report said. Uzbek managers, currently studying in Germany, also took part in the seminar.

The seminar was started with presentation of agro-industrial potential of Uzbekistan, which was presented by the Uzbek managers. The presentation covered cooperation opportunities between Uzbekistan and Germany in agriculture and processing industries.

Andreas Schviertz [transliterated], ZPM expert, said Uzbekistan has great potential in agriculture sector among Central Asian states and it is the leader on the volume of export of agriculture goods. He said the country can broaden agriculture exports.

German expert said the Uzbek goods have good quality and supplied to some European states, including Germany. The German businesses are interested to further expand supplies of agriculture goods from Uzbekistan and cooperation with the Uzbek partners.

Andreas Mantz[transliterated],, DBV representative, called the German firms and companies actively work to boost cooperation with Uzbekistan. He said DBV is ready support to establish contacts between businesses of two states.

Matthias Hutmann [transliterated], director of Fresh and Frozen GmbH, said the company established contacts with the Uzbek partners and the company will start to import fruits, including apricots, strawberries and others, from Uzbekistan from 2008 summer crop.
