Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The SCO summit will take place in Russia from 14 to 18 June 2009. The meeting comes against an increasingly complex international landscape and the global financial crisis.

The mission of the summit is to further implement the SCO treaties and deepen cooperation in politics, security, economy and culture as well as to help recover regional economy as soon as possible.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization was founded in Shanghai in 2001 by Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
