On 18-19 May, Yekaterinburg will host a conference of the ministers of internal affairs and public security of countries-members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). It will be attended by the Russian Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev, the minister of public security of China, the heads of the Interior Ministries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
“The conference will discuss the state and prospects of cooperation of the interior and public security bodies of countries-members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), protection of gas and oil pipelines running via the territories of countries-members of the SCO from criminal encroachments,” an official spokesperson of the Russian Interior Ministry said.
Other topics for discussion will include interaction in the prevention of money laundering and the training of law enforcers.
The delegates to the conference will issue a joint statement on cooperation in the struggle against trans-national crime between the Ministries of Internal Affairs and Public Security of countries-members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the press centre of the Interior Ministry said.
